The presentation generation feature in Google's Gemini Canvas uses AI to instantly create slides.

Following the viral success of its Nano Banana image tool, Google’s Gemini is rolling out another powerful addition  an AI-driven Presentation Creation feature. This new capability allows users to generate complete PowerPoint-style presentations directly within Gemini Canvas using either text prompts or uploaded documents.

With this launch, Google aims to strengthen Gemini’s position against competitors like ChatGPT and Perplexity, giving users yet another reason to integrate the platform into their daily workflows.

What does the Presentation Creation feature do?

The Presentation Creation tool leverages Gemini’s AI to instantly design professional slides. Users can upload files — such as PDFs, Google Docs, or research papers — or simply type a prompt describing the topic. Gemini will automatically structure the slides, choose suitable themes, and add relevant visuals, producing a ready-to-use presentation within minutes.

Currently, the feature is being rolled out to Gemini Advanced subscribers, part of the Google One AI Premium plan. Google has confirmed that the feature will soon be accessible to all Gemini Canvas users, though the free version may rely on a less powerful model.

Building on the Nano Banana phenomenon

The update follows the widespread popularity of Gemini’s Nano Banana — an AI image-generation tool based on Google’s Flash Image Model 2.5. The feature gained traction online for its ability to create 3D portraits, hyperrealistic models, and imaginative visuals — from saree-clad avatars to celebrity-inspired images.

By extending its creative capabilities from image generation to automated presentations, Google is positioning Gemini as a comprehensive AI productivity suite. With Gemini Canvas, users can now visualize, design, and present — all powered by the same intelligent ecosystem.
