Hero MotoCorp Unveils NEX 3: A Two-Seater Micro-EV Under the New Vida Novus Brand
Hero MotoCorp is stepping beyond its traditional two-wheeler lineup with the introduction of the NEX 3, a compact two-seater micro electric vehicle (EV) showcased at EICMA 2025 in Milan.
The NEX 3 debuts under the company’s all-new ‘Novus’ sub-brand, part of Hero’s Vida electric mobility division. This move marks Hero’s entry into the ultra-compact mobility segment a category previously explored by vehicles such as the Tata Nano and MG Comet.
Designed for urban, short-distance commutes, the NEX 3 features a narrow four-wheel layout with tandem seating—the passenger sits directly behind the driver. The enclosed cabin offers weather protection and safety akin to a small car, while maintaining the agility and efficiency of a two-wheeler-based EV.
Positioned between low-cost microcars and lifestyle EVs, the NEX 3 aims to deliver compact practicality, comfort, and ease of use making it ideal for city dwellers seeking a small, efficient, and affordable electric mobility solution.
The NEX 3 was presented alongside a broader Novus portfolio, which includes:
-
NEX 1: A portable, wearable micro-mobility device
-
NEX 2: A lightweight electric trike
-
Vida Concept Ubex: A global electric motorcycle platform
-
Vida Project VxZ: Developed with Zero Motorcycles (US)
-
Vida DIRT.E: A new line of off-road electric motorcycles
Hero also announced plans to expand its international electric footprint, confirming the upcoming European launch of the VIDA VX2 electric scooter.
With the NEX 3, Hero MotoCorp signals its intention to diversify into compact EV formats as cities evolve toward smaller, smarter, and more efficient mobility. Further details on the NEX 3’s pricing, specifications, and launch timeline are expected as it nears production readiness.
